Will a VPN improve my security, or cause more problems with KYC?

A VPN improves privacy from your ISP and other passive observers. It does not improve the security of your wallet itself. Two practical considerations:
- KYC mismatch: if you log into Binance from a country your KYC doesn't match (e.g. via a US exit node when registered in EU), your account will get flagged for review. Don't bounce countries.
- Exchange policy: some jurisdictions (US, UK, SG) prohibit specific exchanges. Using a VPN to bypass restrictions is a breach of TOS and can result in permanent account closure with funds locked pending compliance review.
Reasonable default: use the same VPN exit node consistently, in a country aligned with your KYC. Or don't use one at all — for most people the privacy benefit is small relative to the risk of triggering compliance friction.
