A company called 'Asset Retrieval Specialists' wants an 'international tax clearance fee' to recover my crypto. Scam?
hi everyone,
i'm still reeling from losing a significant amount of crypto last year, like mid-five figures. it was one of those 'pig butchering' scams, completely drained my savings. i reported it to the local police here in Singapore, but honestly, didn't hold out much hope. out of the blue, i got an email a few weeks ago from something called 'Asset Retrieval Specialists'. they said they'd traced some of my funds to an overseas wallet and could recover it for me. they sounded really professional, sent me some 'documents' with official-looking seals. they're now asking for an 'international tax clearance fee' of about $3,000 to release the funds. they say it's a government requirement before the money can be transferred back to my account. it feels like deja vu, you know? like i'm about to get scammed again. my gut says no, but a part of me desperately wants it to be real. has anyone heard of this company or this fee?
