My 'broker' is asking for a 'digital ledger security fee' to release my crypto. Scam or legit?
Hi everyone, I'm at my wit's end here. I've been dabbling in crypto trading with this broker I found online, they seemed quite professional at first. I put in a few thousand euros, then 'grew' it to a decent amount, enough for a deposit on a small flat here in Galway. I tried to withdraw about 15,000 EUR last week, and that's when the trouble started.
First, they just kept delaying, saying there were 'technical issues'. Now, they've sent me an email saying I need to pay a 'digital ledger security fee' of about 1,200 EUR to 'verify the blockchain transaction and ensure the safety of funds'. They say it's refundable once the withdrawal goes through. My partner thinks it's a huge red flag, and I'm starting to worry sick. Has anyone heard of this? Is this a new scam tactic or something legitimate I have to pay? I really can't afford to lose any more money.
