My MetaMask was drained after approving a transaction for a 'gift card dApp', what can I do?
Feeling absolutely gutted right now. I saw this ad on Twitter for a dApp that promised crazy returns if you bought gift cards with crypto and 'staked' them. Sounded a bit out there, but they had a really slick website and a lot of positive comments, so I thought maybe it was one of those new, weird crypto things. I connected my MetaMask, approved a transaction to connect, and next thing I know, my entire wallet is GONE. Not just the crypto I meant to stake, everything. My ETH, some USDC, even the tiny bit of MATIC for gas fees. It was all sent to a different address almost immediately. I tried revoking permissions through Etherscan but it was too late. I'd say it was about high four-figures worth of crypto. I feel so stupid. Is there any, any tiny hope of getting this back? Did I just fall for one of these wallet drainer scams people talk about?
