Lost a load of ETH after connecting Metamask to a fake blockchain game, what can I do?
Feeling absolutely gutted right now. I was playing this new blockchain game, 'EtherQuest Heroes' or something, that my mate told me about. It looked legit, decent graphics, active Discord server. Anyway, I connected my Metamask to it, like you do for a lot of these games, and tried to buy some in-game assets. Problem is, when I went back to my Metamask a few hours later, my ETH balance was almost zero. Like, 0.00something left. I had about 2.5 ETH in there, which is a significant chunk of change for me, especially with the prices lately.
I feel like such an idiot. It must have been a drainer contract when I approved the transaction. Now I'm just staring at an empty wallet. Is there anything, anything at all, I can do? Or is it gone forever? This happened late last night, around midnight my time. I reported it to Metamask but haven't heard back. Fuming with myself tbh.
