A company called 'Global Asset Recovery LLC' wants an 'escrow service fee' to get my money back. Is this legit?
Ok, so I got totally scammed a few months ago, lost a bunch of savings, almost 15k USD, to a fake investment platform. It was truly awful, I was so embarrassed. I reported it to the local police here in Sharjah but they basically said it's really hard to trace. Yesterday, I got an email out of the blue from a company calling themselves 'Global Asset Recovery LLC'. They said they found my case in some 'public database' – which sounds a bit dodgy already, right? They've done a 'preliminary assessment' and told me they can get my money back, which sounds like a dream. But now they're asking for an 'escrow service fee' upfront, about 750 USD, to initiate the recovery process. They even sent me a fancy looking 'agreement'. I'm so desperate to get my money back but I'm terrified of being scammed again. Has anyone heard of this 'Global Asset Recovery LLC' or this 'escrow service fee' thing? Is this just another scam, or could it actually be real?
