A company called 'Global Financial Recovery' wants a 'regulatory compliance fee' to recover my lost funds. Is this another scam?
Okay, so I was hit really hard last year by a crypto investment scam, lost nearly 10k CAD. It was awful, honestly, felt so stupid and embarrassed. I tried reporting it to the police here in Calgary, and even filed a complaint with the **BBB**, but nothing really came of it. I'd pretty much given up hope, just trying to move on. But then, yesterday, I got this email out of the blue from 'Global Financial Recovery'. They said they'd found my case linked to a larger investigation and could help me get my money back. They even knew some details about the original scam, which freaked me out a bit, like how did they get that info? Now they're asking for a 'regulatory compliance fee' to proceed. It's not a huge amount, maybe 600 CAD, but after losing so much already, I'm super hesitant. I can't afford to be scammed again. Is this legit or just another cruel trick?
A company called 'Global Financial Recovery' wants an 'anti-terrorism financing check' fee. Is this another scam?
Hey everyone, I'm kinda desperate here. I got absolutely wiped out by a crypto investment scam about six months ago – lost pretty much all my savings, a low five-figure sum. I reported it to the local police here in Strasbourg, but honestly, nothing really happened. Then a few weeks ago, I was contacted by 'Global Financial Recovery'. They said they had tracked my funds and could get them back, even knew a bunch of details about my initial scam, which felt legit at first. They've been super persistent. Now they're saying the funds are ready to be released but I need to pay an 'anti-terrorism financing check' fee, supposedly to clear the transfer through some international compliance thing. It's like 2,000 euros. I'm so scared this is just another layer of the same nightmare. Is this for real, or am I about to get scammed again?
