Is 'Wealth Recovery International' asking for an 'advance fee' another scam after I lost my crypto?
Ugh, I'm so done. So, I fell for a pretty elaborate crypto investment scam a few months back. Lost like, a significant chunk of my retirement, low six figures. I was devastated, reported it to the RCMP, IC3, all the things. Thought that was it, just a hard lesson learned. Then, out of nowhere, I get an email from a company calling themselves 'Wealth Recovery International'. They said they found my case through public records and have a high success rate recovering funds from these types of scams. They sounded so professional, knew details about my initial scam that weren't public (which kinda freaked me out, tbh). They've sent me a 'contract' and are now asking for an 'advance fee' to cover initial legal and investigative costs. It's not a small amount, like 5% of what I lost. My gut is screaming 'SCAM ALERT' again because it feels exactly like the red flags I missed the first time. But part of me, the desperate part, is thinking 'what if this is real?' Has anyone dealt with these guys? Is an advance fee normal for legitimate recovery services? I'm in Halifax, Canada if that helps. Any advice appreciated, I can't afford to get burned again.
A company called 'Claim Justice' is asking for a 'final disbursement fee' for my lost crypto – is this legit?
Hey everyone, I'm kinda freaking out right now. I lost a significant amount of money, like, a few months ago in a crypto investment scam. It was one of those 'high-yield' platforms, and yeah, total pig butchering. I reported it to IC3 back then but honestly, didn't hear much back. Anyway, out of the blue, I got an email from a company calling themselves 'Claim Justice'. They had details about my original scam that honestly freaked me out, stuff only the scammers or IC3 would know. They said they'd been working on a class action or something and that my funds, or a good chunk of them, were recovered. Now they're asking for a 'final disbursement fee' of about 2% of the recovered amount before they can release it to me. They want it in crypto, naturally. My gut is screaming scam, but the idea of getting even some of my money back is so tempting. Has anyone heard of 'Claim Justice' or this 'final disbursement fee' thing? Is it real, or am I about to get scammed again?
