A company called 'Global Legal Advocates' emailed me, wants an 'indemnity insurance premium' – legit?
Salam everyone, I'm really at my wit's end here. You might remember my post a few months ago about losing a big chunk of my savings, almost 30k USD, to a crypto investment platform that just vanished. I was so embarrassed, told my wife it was just a bad stock pick, you know? Anyway, over the weekend, I got an email from a company calling themselves 'Global Legal Advocates'. They said they found my case through 'public records' and can help recover my funds. They even had some details about the scam that were pretty accurate. But here's the catch: they're asking for an 'indemnity insurance premium' of about 1500 USD upfront before they can start. They said it's to cover their legal costs if the court case goes sideways, protecting them. It sounds plausible, but after what happened before, I'm so paranoid. Is this another scam designed to get more money out of me?
