A company called 'Global Recovery Advocates' wants a 'jurisdictional validation' fee to get my money back. Is this legit?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling a bit lost and honestly, really embarrassed. About six months ago, I fell for a crypto investment scam, lost nearly 15k. I reported it to the Gardaí here in Ireland, but haven't heard much back. Then, out of the blue, I got an email from a company calling themselves 'Global Recovery Advocates'. They said they found my case through public records and could help. They've been really professional, sending me detailed reports and even a 'case manager'.
Now, they're asking for a 'jurisdictional validation fee' of about 1,200 euros. They say it's to ensure the legal process aligns with international regulations before they can proceed with recovering my funds. They even showed me some mock documents. My partner thinks it's another scam, but a tiny part of me wants to believe. Has anyone dealt with these guys or a similar request? Is this a standard thing for recovery firms?
