Is 'Global Recovery Agency' asking for 'notary fees' to get my crypto back just another scam?
Bonjour everyone. I'm feeling so stupid right now, but I really need some advice. A few months ago, I fell for a crypto investment scam, lost nearly 8,000 euros. It was devastating. Just last week, I got an email, out of the blue, from a company called 'Global Recovery Agency'. They said they had tracked some of my lost funds and could help me get them back. I was so relieved, like a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
They've been in touch via WhatsApp, very professional-sounding. They sent me documents, an agreement, everything looked legit. Now they're asking for 'notary fees' to finalize the transfer of my recovered funds – about 750 euros. They say it's because the funds are in an international account and need to be notarized for release. My husband is super skeptical, but I just want my money back so badly. Is this a common thing? Or am I about to get scammed a second time? I'm so confused and scared.
