Lost my small business savings to a 'mentor' from a professional networking app. What now?
I'm in shock, truly. I met someone on a professional networking app, you know, one of those where you're looking for connections and advice. This person seemed so legitimate, always talking about global markets and investment opportunities. We built up a rapport over a few months, mostly through an encrypted messaging app. Eventually, they convinced me to 'invest' a significant portion of my small business savings into what they claimed was a high-yield crypto arbitrage platform. They even showed me what looked like a really professional dashboard, with trades happening, profits accumulating. I put in about $15,000 USD, which is a huge amount for me. Now, suddenly, the platform is gone, the messaging app contact is deleted, and I can't reach them. I feel so stupid and embarrassed. I'm based in Sharjah, UAE. What are my options for reporting this? Is there *any* chance of getting my money back?

I really feel like such an idiot. I met this person, 'Anna', through a professional networking group online, not even a dating app, like a real, legit group for people in my industry. We started chatting about career development, then she mentioned how she'd diversified her investments into crypto and was making serious passive income. She introduced me to this platform, CoinEgg, and showed me screenshots, walk-throughs... it all seemed so professional and legit, like something an actual financial advisor would recommend. I transferred about 7,000 euros in phases over two months. Saw my 'portfolio' grow, even 'withdrew' a small amount (like 50 euros) to my Revolut to test it, which worked! So I put in more. Now they're asking for a 'tax payment' to release my full balance, which is apparently over 15,000 euros. I can't reach Anna anymore, the website is still up but my account is frozen. I feel sick to my stomach. Is there anything at all I can do from France? I'm so embarrassed but I need help.
