Lost a huge amount to a 'trader' from a hiking app, now my crypto's gone. Any hope from Quebec?
Feeling so stupid right now, honestly. I met this person through a hiking app, seemed really nice, we talked for weeks, shared pics of trails, even planned to meet up next summer. Then they started talking about crypto, how they were making so much money with this platform called 'GlobalTradePro' or something similar. Said they had an 'uncle' who was a top analyst. I started with a small amount, like 500 CAD, and it actually went up! They showed me screenshots, encouraged me to put more. Long story short, I ended up putting in about 15,000 CAD, mostly from my savings, and now the platform is gone. No messages back, the app link doesn't work. I tried calling my bank, Desjardins, but they said since it was crypto, there's not much they can do. I know it sounds naive now, but they were so convincing. I feel so ashamed. Is there anything at all I can do from Montreal?
