Lost my crypto after connecting to a fake UniSwap site for 'liquidity mining' – what now?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty sick about this. I was browsing Twitter like an idiot and saw an ad for a new UniSwap v4 liquidity mining pool, offering some crazy APY. It looked legit, even had the UniSwap logo and everything. I clicked through, connected my MetaMask wallet, and approved a transaction thinking I was getting into some high-yield farming. Instantly, my wallet was drained. Like, gone. All my USDC, a good chunk of ETH, disappeared in seconds. I'm talking low five figures. I quickly disconnected everything and revoked permissions but it was too late. I've checked Etherscan and can see the transaction, where my funds went to some random address. Is there literally anything at all I can do? I'm heartbroken. I reported it to my local police but they just looked blank. Did I just lose everything? Has anyone ever gotten funds back in a situation like this?
Crypto savings gone after connecting to a fake UniSwap site for 'liquidity mining' – what now?
I'm so gutted, I feel like such an idiot. I was trying to get into some liquidity mining stuff, heard about it on a Telegram group. Someone posted a link, looked exactly like UniSwap, even had the little unicorn logo. Didn't even question it. I connected my MetaMask wallet, and it asked me to 'approve' some tokens for the mining pool. I thought it was normal, so I clicked confirm. Instantly, everything was gone. Like, everything. A significant amount of ETH and USDC, maybe around 8k euros. I saw the transactions flying out on Etherscan. I know, I know, I should have checked. It was late, I was tired, didn't think twice. My partner is furious. Is there **any** way to get this back? I've already reported it to my local police, but they kinda just shrugged. What else can I do? Please tell me there's something.
Crypto lost to a fake 'Uniswap farming' site, is there any way to recover my USDT and ETH?
Okay, so I feel so silly even typing this out, but I'm desperate. Last week, I saw an ad on Telegram for a new 'Uniswap V4' farming pool offering crazy APY. I clicked it, it looked super legit, had all the Uniswap branding, and even connected to my MetaMask with approval from my phone. I didn't think much of it at the time, just wanted to get some rewards. I connected my wallet, approved what I thought was just a 'staking' transaction, and then boom, my USDT and some ETH I had for gas just vanished. Like, within minutes. I checked the transaction hash on Etherscan and it went to some random wallet, not even the 'farming pool' address. I lost about 8,000 USDT and a bit of ETH. This was pretty much my savings from last year, trying to build something. I've tried messaging 'support' on the site, but no surprise, no response. I've reported it to MetaMask but they said they can't reverse transactions. Is there anything at all that can be done? I'm in Abu Dhabi, but the transaction was on Ethereum.
Lost my crypto to a fake 'Uniswap V3' site, wallet drained. Any chance to retrieve it?
Oh man, i'm so gutted. I clicked on what I thought was the official Uniswap V3 site earlier today – it popped up in a Google search, looked totally legit, right? I wanted to swap some ETH for a different token. Connected my MetaMask, confirmed the transaction. It's only after a few minutes I noticed that all my ETH and USDC was GONE. Not just the amount I tried to swap, but EVERYTHING. My wallet was totally drained. I feel so stupid. I checked the URL again and yeah, it was slightly off by like one letter. I've seen some posts about 'wallet drainers' now and it sounds exactly like that. Is there anything at all I can do? I'm in Germany, so I don't even know where to report this properly. This was a significant chunk of my savings. Pls any advice helps.
Lost my crypto to a fake 'Uniswap V3' site, wallet drained. Any chance to retrieve it?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling really stupid right now. I was trying to swap some altcoins for ETH on what I thought was Uniswap V3 yesterday evening. It looked *exactly* like the real site, I swear. I connected my MetaMask wallet, authorized a transaction, and then boom – an hour later, my entire wallet was drained. Like, gone. All my ETH, some USDC, everything. I know I should have double-checked the URL but it was late, I was tired, and the link just appeared in my search results. I've already disconnected the wallet from everything and changed my passwords, but what else can I do? Is there *any* way to trace this or get my funds back? It was a significant amount for me, almost all my savings. I reported it to the platform I used to buy the crypto initially (not Uniswap, obviously). I just feel so lost. Any advice or shared experiences would really help.
Lost ETH and USDC after connecting to a fake UniSwap website, is there any way to recover it?
Ugh, I feel so stupid. Last night, around 9 pm, I was trying to swap some ETH for a new altcoin on UniSwap. I always use a bookmark, but my laptop was acting up, so I just Googled it. Didn't even think twice, just clicked the top result. It *looked* exactly like UniSwap, the colors, the layout, everything. I connected my MetaMask, confirmed a transaction, and like, five minutes later, my entire wallet was drained. All my ETH, about 0.8 ETH, and a good chunk of USDC, around $1200, just gone. I saw the transactions on Etherscan, straight to some anonymous address. It happened so fast. My husband was out, and I just sat there staring at the screen. I've reported it to the CFTC, but honestly, I don't have much hope. Has anyone gone through this? Is there *anything* that can be done, or is it just gone for good?
Lost my ETH after connecting to a fake 'Uniswap clone' site on Base network, wallet drained. Any hope?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty stupid right now. I was trying to bridge some ETH to the Base network for better yields I saw advertised on Twitter, I clicked what I thought was a legitimate Uniswap link (it looked identical, but the URL was slightly off, like `app.unlswap.org` or something subtle like that, I only noticed later). My MetaMask was connected, and I tried to approve a transaction for a small amount of ETH. Next thing I know, my entire wallet, about 3.5 ETH, was drained in minutes. It happened late last night, around 2 AM here in Berlin. I checked Etherscan and saw the transactions going out, they went to some fresh wallet addresses. I've disconnected everything and reported it to MetaMask, but they said they can't reverse transactions. Is there *anything* at all that can be done? I'm just gutted, that was a significant chunk of my savings.
