Uxxxx Rxxxx Fxxx wants a 'risk assessment deposit' to get my crypto back. Is this another scam?
Hey everyone,
I'm honestly feeling so lost and defeated right now. Back in December, I fell for one of those crypto investment scams, you know, where they lure you in with high returns and then poof, all your money's gone. I lost about €12,000, which was my savings for a new car. I was devastated.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, I joined a Facebook group for scam victims, trying to find some help or maybe just some solace. Someone there, who seemed really genuine, posted about how Uxxxx Rxxxx Fxxx helped them recover their funds after a similar scam. They even showed what looked like proof – screenshots of crypto hitting their wallet.
I contacted Uxxxx Rxxxx Fxxx, and they've been pretty professional so far. They did an 'initial assessment' for free. Now they're saying they've traced my funds and can recover them, but I need to pay a 'risk assessment deposit' of about €800 before they can proceed. They said it's to cover the legal team's initial work and to prove I'm serious. It sounds plausible, but after what I've been through, I'm just so paranoid. Is this a common tactic for legit recovery firms, or am I about to get scammed again? I'm in Hamburg, and this whole thing is just making me sick to my stomach.
