Lost my crypto to a 'sweetheart' from a fitness app, now what can I do from Winnipeg?

I'm feeling so stupid and humiliated. I met this guy on a fitness tracking app, you know, one of those where you share your running routes and stuff. He seemed really nice, we chatted for weeks, he even talked about visiting me here in Winnipeg. Then he started talking about this 'amazing' crypto investment platform, said he'd made so much money. He coached me through setting up an account, sending my Bitcoin from my personal wallet to this site. Now, poof. Site's gone, his profile is gone, and my BTC is just… vanished. It was everything I had saved. I didn't even tell my family. I reported it to the local police, but they just kinda shrugged. Is there anything else I can do from Canada? I feel so alone in this.
