My Instagram was hacked & used for crypto scam, now followers want money back from ME. What do I do?

Feeling totally sick about this. My Instagram account, which I've had for like, ten years, got hacked last week. I clicked a link that looked like it was from a friend about a 'collab' – total idiocy, I know now. Anyway, before I could even get back in, they changed the email, phone, everything. Then, these scammers started posting stuff about 'amazing crypto returns' on my story and in DMs to my followers. Now, a couple of my actual friends and even some acquaintances have DMed me, super upset, saying they 'invested' like a few thousand bucks because they thought it was me recommending it. They're asking *me* for their money back! I'm completely devastated and freaked out. I reported it to Instagram, but haven't heard much. Is there *anything* I can do? For my friends who lost money, or for me, to prove I wasn't involved? I feel like I'm going to be blamed for this forever.
