My MetaMask was drained after clicking a fake airdrop link, can I get my tokens back?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling sick to my stomach right now. I saw an announcement on Twitter for a new token airdrop, it looked super legit, even had some big accounts promoting it. I clicked the link, connected my MetaMask, and approved what I thought was just a small gas fee transaction to claim the airdrop. Everything seemed fine, but then a few hours later, I checked my wallet and ALL my ETH and some altcoins were gone. Drained. Completely empty. I can see the transactions on Etherscan, they moved everything to a new address. This happened around 4 PM GMT yesterday. I didn't even get the airdrop! I've frozen my MetaMask account access on my browser, but obviously, it's too late for the funds. Is there *anything* I can do? I'm in shock. This was most of my savings.
Wallet drained after signing what seemed like a routine Metamask transaction – is there any hope?
hi everyone, feeling pretty low right now. i usually consider myself pretty careful but i think i messed up big time. i was trying to claim some airdrop for a new token i'd heard about, something pretty small, maybe 100 bucks worth. the website looked fine, i connected my MetaMask wallet, and then it asked me to sign a transaction. it looked like a normal sign request, not a huge gas fee or anything. i didn't think much of it, just clicked approve. next thing i know, like 10 minutes later, my entire wallet is GONE. all my ETH, my USDC, even the little bit of MATIC i had for gas. it was about 8.5k EUR in total. i checked Etherscan and saw a bunch of 'approve' transactions and then transfers to an address i don't recognize. i feel like such an idiot. i've heard about wallet drainers but always thought it wouldn't happen to me. is there *any* way to reverse this? or track it? i'm in Montpellier, my bank (Crédit Agricole) said they can't do anything because it's crypto. any advice is appreciated.
Wallet drained after connecting to a fake crypto airdrop site for a new token, is recovery possible?
Feeling absolutely sick right now. I saw an announcement on Twitter, from what looked like a legitimate project, about an airdrop for their new token. It promised some pretty sweet returns if you opted in early. I clicked the link, it looked just like their official site, and I connected my MetaMask wallet. Everything seemed fine, I approved the transaction for the 'airdrop claim' and then... nothing happened. A few minutes later, I checked my wallet and ALL my ETH and some USDC were gone. Completely drained. I tried revoking permissions through Etherscan but it was too late. This happened early this morning, like 6 AM my time in Nice. I feel so stupid and embarrassed. Is there ANYTHING I can do? Or is it just gone forever? My partner is gonna kill me when she finds out this wasn't an investment.
