Wallet drained after 'seed phrase recovery tool' for Trust Wallet, any hope for my BSC tokens?
Hey everyone,
Feeling pretty sick right now. I had a decent amount of BSC tokens, mostly BNB and some small altcoins, in my Trust Wallet. A few days ago, my phone decided to brick itself and I couldn't access anything. In a panic, I did a quick Google search for 'Trust Wallet seed phrase recovery' and clicked on what looked like an official tool. It asked for my 12-word seed phrase, and I, like an idiot, entered it. I was just desperate to get my funds back.
Within minutes, my Trust Wallet was totally emptied. Every single token transferred out. I checked the transaction history on BscScan and it all went to some unfamiliar address. It's about 4k AUD, which isn't life-changing but it's a huge chunk of my savings. I reported it to Trust Wallet support, but they basically said there's nothing they can do since I gave away my seed phrase.
Is there seriously zero recourse here? Has anyone ever had anything like this happen and actually managed to get any funds back? I'm clutching at straws here, but I have to ask.
