My 'crypto manager' took my Trust Wallet seed phrase and drained everything – any hope?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty sick to my stomach right now. I met this guy online, seemed legit, talked a good game about crypto investments. He presented himself as a 'crypto manager' and kept saying he'd help me optimize my portfolio. Eventually, he convinced me to give him my Trust Wallet seed phrase, claiming he needed it for some 'advanced staking protocols' that required direct wallet integration. I know, I know, I was an idiot. My guard was down. He promised huge returns. Today, I checked my wallet, and everything's gone. ETH, BNB, some altcoins – all of it. The total was like, low five figures. I can see the transactions on the blockchain, moving to a new address. I've tried messaging him, but he's ghosted me completely. I've already reported it to the local police, but they seemed pretty clueless about crypto. Is there *anything* I can do? Or am I just completely out of luck because I gave away my seed phrase?
Crypto 'advisor' drained my Trust Wallet after I gave them seed phrase for 'verification', any hope?
Hey everyone, feeling completely sick to my stomach right now. I was in a crypto Telegram group, and this 'advisor' messaged me directly, saying they could help me optimize my staking returns. They seemed super legit, knew all the lingo, and had a bunch of testimonials in the group. They asked for my Trust Wallet seed phrase saying they needed it to 'verify' my wallet balance for some special staking pool, promising huge returns. Like a total idiot, I gave it to them. Within minutes, everything was gone. All my ETH, my BNB, my USDC... poof. I saw the transactions happen on Etherscan, straight to an address I don't recognize. I've reported it to my local police, but they just looked at me blankly. Is there genuinely ANY way to recover funds once someone has your seed phrase? Or am I just completely out of luck?
Lost my BTC after clicking a link in a fake CoinTracker email, is it gone for good?
Feeling totally gutted right now. I use CoinTracker to keep track of my crypto stuff for taxes, and I got an email last night that looked *exactly* like one of theirs. It said there was a 'security alert' and I needed to verify my wallet. I was tired, didn't think twice, and clicked the link. It took me to a site that looked just like CoinTracker, asked for my wallet seed phrase (idiot, I know, I know!), and I typed it in. Within minutes, my Bitcoin was gone. Just... gone. I saw the transaction on Etherscan, straight out of my wallet to some random address. I've reported it to my bank, but they said there's not much they can do since it's crypto. I feel so stupid. Is there any way at all to trace this or get it back? Please tell me there's something.
Lost ETH and USDC from my Metamask after using a 'web wallet' that looked exactly like ZG.com – any chance?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling really stupid right now but desperate for any advice. I was trying to withdraw some crypto from this site I was using that looked just like ZG.com – you know, the orange and white one? I'd been trading small amounts for a while, like a few weeks, and it seemed legit. Anyway, when I tried to withdraw, it said my main wallet needed to be 'verified' by connecting to a web wallet. The link they gave opened a page that looked *exactly* like a Metamask connect screen, asking for my seed phrase. I know, I know, instant red flag, but I was so tired and stressed from a long week, and the site had been fine before... I put in my phrase. Instantly, my ETH and USDC from my actual Metamask (the one on my browser extension) were gone. Poof. Like, within seconds. Checked Etherscan, and it all went to some new address. I only had about 4k EUR in there, but it's a huge hit for me. Is there anything at all I can do? I reported it to the local police here in Leipzig, but they just looked blank. Should I contact Chainalysis or something? Or is it just gone forever?
