Crypto 'wallet drainer' after fake 'staking pool' on Cronos, is my USDT gone for good?
I really messed up, you guys. Saw this ad on a crypto news site for a new staking pool on the Cronos network, promised really high APY, like 200%. It looked kinda legit, had decent looking UI, even a fake audit report linked. I connected my MetaMask, approved a transaction to stake my USDT (about $7,000 worth), and literally seconds later, my wallet was emptied. Not just the USDT, everything – gone. Checked the transaction hash on Cronoscan, and it shows the funds going to some random address, then moving through a bunch of other wallets super fast. I feel so stupid. I reported it to MetaMask and my bank (which is just hilarious, what are they gonna do?), but honestly, do I have any hope of getting this back? Is there anything else I *should* have done or can do now? This was a big chunk of my savings.
