My Trust Wallet was drained after clicking a fake crypto 'giveaway' link on Telegram, is recovery possible?
Hey everyone, I'm feeling sick to my stomach right now. I got a message on Telegram yesterday morning, like, 9 AM my time, about a 'special ETH giveaway' from a famous crypto personality. It looked legit, even had their profile picture and everything. tbh, I was a bit sleepy still and kinda excited. I clicked the link, it took me to what looked exactly like a Trust Wallet Connect page, so I scanned the QR. Within minutes, literally like 5 minutes, my Trust Wallet was completely emptied. Everything. My ETH, some altcoins I had, all gone. Approx. low five figures. I called my bank (ENBD) but they said there's nothing they can do since it was crypto. I reported it to Trust Wallet support too, but they just sent an automated message about not being able to reverse transactions. Is there any actual way to track this, or is it just gone forever?
