Has anyone used Nethertrace to recover funds after a deepfake voice scam?
I'm really at my wit's end here. My mother, bless her heart, fell for a deepfake voice scam a few weeks ago. They spoofed my voice, called her, and convinced her I was in some dire emergency overseas, needing money wired to a crypto address *immediately*. She transferred about 15,000 EUR in Bitcoin before she finally called my actual number and realized her mistake. My heart just sank. I've been trying to figure out what to do, reported it to the police, but they frankly seemed a bit out of their depth with crypto. Someone on a forum mentioned [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co) as a specialized firm. I'm hesitant, obviously, because there are so many scams pretending to be recovery services. But their website looks really professional, and they claim to have a good track record. Has anyone here actually used Nethertrace for a similar kind of crypto scam? Especially something involving social engineering like deepfake voice tech? Any advice or experiences would be hugely appreciated.
Has anyone used Nethertrace to recover funds after a deepfake investment scam?
Feeling pretty raw right now. I lost a significant amount of crypto, low five figures, to what I now realize was a deepfake investment scam. I saw a video of what looked like a legitimate CEO promoting this 'amazing opportunity,' followed all the steps, sent my ETH, and of course, it all disappeared. I feel so stupid and embarrassed. I've been doing some research and **Nethertrace** keeps coming up as a reputable firm for crypto recovery. They claim to specialize in these kinds of complex blockchain investigations and don't charge upfront fees, which is a *huge* relief after almost falling for another 'recovery scammer' who wanted crypto first. I just wanted to ask if anyone here has direct experience with [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co) specifically for deepfake or AI-driven investment fraud. What was your experience like? How transparent were they? Any feedback would be incredibly helpful as I try to figure out my next steps.
Is 'Deepfake Assets Recovery' legit or just another scam feeding off my previous loss?
Okay, so I was part of that huge 'deepfake AI stock trading bot' scam last month – you know, the one where they made it look like Elon Musk was promoting some crazy investment thing? Yeah, i fell for it, lost about 12k. Super embarrassing, my husband RIPPED into me. Anyway, I've been trying to put it behind me, but a new weird thing happened. I got an email and then a WhatsApp message from a company called 'Deepfake Assets Recovery.' They said they saw my info on a leaked list of victims (which honestly, sounds plausible given how sophisticated the original scam was). They're claiming they can get my money back, saying they have some 'proprietary AI forensic tools' to trace the funds. But they want an 'initial processing fee' of $950 to start the trace. It just feels... off. Like, why would a legitimate company need an upfront fee? And 'proprietary AI forensic tools'? It sounds a bit too good to be true, given how untraceable crypto is supposed to be. I'm in San Antonio, USA. Did anyone else get contacted by them? Are they real, or am i just walking into round two of getting scammed?
Lost my ETH to a deepfake Elon Musk giveaway - is there ANY way to recover it?
I feel so incredibly stupid right now. I was watching a YouTube live stream over the weekend, it was supposedly Elon Musk talking about some new crypto initiative, and it looked SO real. Like, perfect video, perfect audio, everything. He was saying if you send 0.5 ETH to this address, they'd send back 1 ETH as a 'thank you' for supporting his new project. My partner warned me, but I was just so hyped and it just seemed so legit, I didn't even think. I sent 0.5 ETH from my Trust Wallet. Moments later, I realized it was a scam. The stream disappeared, the address was empty. It was a deepfake, wasn't it? I saw someone mention Chainalysis might be able to trace it but idk. Is there any actual hope of getting my money back? About $1,800 USD, which is a lot for me right now. I'm in Germany, btw.
