Met a guy through a parenting group on Facebook, now my savings are gone to crypto – what now?
Honestly, I'm just… numb. I met this really sweet guy through a local parenting group on Facebook, we started chatting, and it felt like we really clicked. He was so understanding about co-parenting challenges and gave great advice. Over a few months, he slowly introduced the idea of crypto investing, saying he had this 'expert' strategy that always paid off. Showed me screenshots of huge gains. I started with a small amount, saw it 'grow' on this platform called 'GlobalTradeFX' – total fake, I know that now. Then he convinced me to invest more, and more. Now I'm in for about $15,000, which was my emergency fund, and the platform's just locked me out. He's ghosted me. I feel so stupid and embarrassed. I live in Calgary, Canada. What can I even do to report this? Will anyone actually help?
My 'future husband' from Facebook got me into a fake gold trading platform. Any hope from UAE?
I met someone really charming on Facebook a few months ago. He was so sweet, we talked for hours every day, and he seemed like everything I ever wanted. He eventually convinced me to invest in what he called a 'private gold trading platform' — said it was an exclusive opportunity and his uncle was a big shot in the industry in Switzerland. At first, it looked amazing, I saw profits accumulating. I even withdrew a small amount successfully last month, which made me trust it completely. Then he told me about a special big-ticket investment, and I put in almost everything I had, probably around $15,000 USD equivalent. Now the platform is down, his Facebook account is gone, and I can't reach him. I feel so foolish and heartbroken. I'm based in Al Ain. Is there anything I can do from here? Should I go to the police? Or is it just a lost cause?
Uxxxx Rxxxx Fxxx wants upfront fees to recover my money, are they legitimate?
I'm so desperate right now, I got scammed out of almost $5k last year via a fake investment platform – totally my fault, I fell for the social media ads. Anyway, I saw a bunch of Facebook comments and some online reviews mentioning this company, Uxxxx Rxxxx Fxxx, saying they helped people recover their funds, sometimes even a lot, like $39,300 for one person! They told people to contact them via WhatsApp or email. I reached out, and they got back to me pretty quickly. They said they could definitely help, but they need an 'administrative fee' upfront, like right now, before they can start working. I'm so scared of getting scammed again. Has anyone actually worked with them or can tell me if this is normal for a recovery service?
