My 'broker' is asking for a 'digital wallet linking fee' to withdraw profits. Is this legit?
I started trading with this online platform, 'Global Markets Elite' (yeah, I know, name's a bit much now that I think about it, lol). Saw some ads on social media, looked legit enough with all their fancy charts and testimonials. Put in about €3k initially, and to my surprise, my 'account manager' (who was super attentive at first, always chatting on WhatsApp) showed me I'd made like €7k profit in a few weeks. I was ecstatic, told my husband this was it, we could finally go on that trip.
So I tried to withdraw the profits, and suddenly the problems started. First, they said my bank wasn't supported for direct transfers. Then they said I needed a 'verified crypto wallet' to receive funds. Okay, fine, I got one. Now they're saying I need to pay a 'digital wallet linking fee' of €1,500 before they can even *try* to transfer the funds. Says it's for 'security protocols' and to 'validate the connection'. This sounds really fishy to me. Has anyone heard of this before? My gut is screaming scam, but the profit amount is so tempting.
