My 'crypto manager' took my Trust Wallet seed phrase and drained everything – any hope?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty sick to my stomach right now. I met this guy online, seemed legit, talked a good game about crypto investments. He presented himself as a 'crypto manager' and kept saying he'd help me optimize my portfolio. Eventually, he convinced me to give him my Trust Wallet seed phrase, claiming he needed it for some 'advanced staking protocols' that required direct wallet integration. I know, I know, I was an idiot. My guard was down. He promised huge returns.
Today, I checked my wallet, and everything's gone. ETH, BNB, some altcoins – all of it. The total was like, low five figures. I can see the transactions on the blockchain, moving to a new address. I've tried messaging him, but he's ghosted me completely. I've already reported it to the local police, but they seemed pretty clueless about crypto. Is there *anything* I can do? Or am I just completely out of luck because I gave away my seed phrase?
