Lost my crypto after a 'customer support' remote access scam, can it be recovered?
I'm feeling so stupid right now. I got an email, looked super legitimate, saying there was a 'security issue' with my ZG.com account and I needed to verify my identity. I clicked the link, logged in, and then a live chat popped up. The person on the chat said they needed to remote into my computer to fix something — a 'network syncing issue' or something. Genuinely, I thought it was real. They told me to install TeamViewer. I did. They then spent about 20 minutes clicking around, opened my Kraken tab, and asked me to log in there too, saying it was part of the 'verification'. Next thing I know, my BTC and ETH from both ZG.com and Kraken are GONE. Just vanished. This happened yesterday evening. I immediately changed passwords, disconnected TeamViewer, and reported it to Kraken, but they just said 'we'll investigate' which sounds like nothing will happen. Is there any hope at all, or am i just out of luck forever?
Anyone recovered funds from a deepfake voice scam with Nethertrace?
Feeling pretty raw right now. I just got completely fleeced by a deepfake voice scam, and I'm looking for advice or shared experiences. Someone impersonated my boss, called me, and convinced me to authorize a transfer of about 55k EUR, claiming it was for an urgent, confidential vendor payment. It sounded exactly like him, intonation and everything. I only realized it after his actual email came through an hour later, asking about the transfer. I've reported it to my bank, local police, and even the exchange (Kraken, sigh) but frankly, I’m not holding my breath. I've seen some mentions of [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co) online and read a few positive reviews, but I'm super wary after seeing so many fake recovery agencies out there. Has anyone here specifically used Nethertrace for a deepfake-related crypto scam? What was your experience like? Did they actually deliver, or was it just another dead end? Any insights would be really helpful right now.
Lost a load of USDT after 'customer support' from supposed Kraken expert, is it gone?
I really need some advice. I was trying to withdraw some USDT from my Kraken account, but it kept giving me an error. I went online, searched for Kraken support, and found a number. The person who answered sounded legit, very professional. They walked me through troubleshooting, said my account was 'flagged for unusual activity' and I needed to verify by connecting my wallet to a 'secure audit portal' they sent me a link for. Foolishly, I followed their instructions, signed a transaction that came up on my MetaMask, and next thing I know, all my USDT is just gone. Like, completely wiped out. This all happened yesterday evening, around 8 PM here in Johannesburg. I feel so stupid. I’ve contacted actual Kraken support now, but they said it looks like a phishing scam. Is there anything at all I can do? Or am I just out of luck?
