Crypto vanished from my Ledger after signing a 'gas fee update' transaction, is it gone?
Feeling totally gutted right now. I usually try to be super careful with my crypto, been using a Ledger hardware wallet for ages, always double-check everything. But last night, I got this pop-up on my browser (using Brave, which usually blocks stuff) saying MetaMask needed a 'gas fee update' for some pending transaction I didn't even remember initiating. It looked legit, like the usual MetaMask pop-up.
I connected my Ledger, clicked approve on the device, signed the transaction, and BAM. My ETH, some SOL, and even my USDC from my DeFi farm, all gone. The transaction history just shows it moving to some random wallet address. I immediately disconnected everything, cleared my browser cache, but it was too late. I've reported it to Ledger support but they just sent a generic 'we can't reverse transactions' reply. Is there any actual hope of getting this back? This was literally years of savings. I feel so dumb.
