My 'broker' FXChoice is asking for a 'profit protection deposit' to release my crypto profits. Is this a new scam?
Hi everyone,
I'm feeling really anxious right now. I put about 4,000 USD into what I thought was a legitimate crypto trading platform after seeing some ads on social media. It was through a 'broker' called FXChoice. Initially, things seemed fine, and I even saw my portfolio grow pretty quickly. When I tried to initiate a withdrawal of my profits, they said I needed to pay a 'profit protection deposit' first. They're saying it's to 'safeguard' my earnings from market fluctuations during the transfer process and that I'll get it back right after the withdrawal clears.
This sounds really fishy to me. I've already invested a fair bit, and now they're asking for more money just to get my own funds out? Has anyone else encountered this specific tactic? Is this a standard procedure I'm somehow not aware of, or another one of these elaborate scams? Really hoping for some clarity here. I'm in Singapore, if that helps.
