Deposited with AMarkets (unregulated broker) for leverage, now they want crazy 'verification fees' for withdrawal?
Ok, so i, total noob, got drawn into this whole forex thing after seeing some ads on social media. Signed up with AMarkets, they seemed legit-ish from the website, good looking platform. Put in about $3k, then with help from an 'account manager' (red flag, I know *now*) I made some trades, actually got my balance up to like $8k according to their platform. Was super excited, tried to withdraw a little just to test it out, like $500. And now they're saying I need to pay a 'withdrawal verification fee' which is like '15% of my balance' because I'm a 'new user' and it's 'international'. This sounds completely bogus. They even said it's 'industry standard' for unregulated brokers. Did I just get scammed? Or is this actually a thing? I really need that money, it was my savings. Is there anything I can do, or am I totally out of luck here in Minneapolis?
