My 'broker' FXChoice wants a 'profit and loss reconciliation fee' to release funds. Is this a new scam tactic?
Hey everyone,
i'm really losing hope here. i got involved with this broker, FXChoice, last year after seeing some really flashy ads about high returns on crypto CFDs. stupid of me, i know. i started with a small amount, then they pressured me to put in more, saying i needed a bigger 'capital base' to really see the profits. i ended up putting in a significant chunk of my savings, like, low five figures USD.
Now i'm trying to withdraw, and it's been a nightmare. first, they ignored my requests, then they told me i needed to pay a 'tax clearance fee', which i questioned. now they're saying there's a 'profit and loss reconciliation fee' that needs to be paid before any withdrawal can be processed, to 'balance the books' for their regulators. they even sent me what looked like a professional invoice. my gut is screaming this is another trick to get more money out of me. this is stressing me out so much, i can't sleep. has anyone encountered this specific fee from FXChoice or another unregulated broker? what are my options? I'm in Singapore so i'm not sure if the MAS can even help with offshore brokers.
