My unregulated broker (IronFX offshore) is demanding a 'margin call fee' to release profits. Scam or legit?
Okay, so I'm in a bit of a panic here. I've been trading with an offshore broker called IronFX (or at least that's what their website says, it's ironfx.capital, not the real one, I know now). I put in about £8k over a few months, and honestly, things looked good on their platform, showing I'd made a decent profit, like £15k. I tried to withdraw some of it, maybe £5k, and now they're saying I need to pay a 'margin call fee' of £3k before they'll process any withdrawal. They're saying it's to 'cover potential market volatility' and 'protect my positions' even though I'm trying to close them. My 'account manager' is being super pushy, saying I'll lose everything if I don't pay. This feels wrong. I'm based in Belfast. Has anyone dealt with this particular broker or this type of fee before? Is this just another tactic to get more money out of me?
My unregulated broker, IronFX offshore, is now saying my account is 'dormant' and demanding a 'reactivation fee' to withdraw profits. Is this legit?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling sick to my stomach about this. About 8 months ago, I put some money into IronFX offshore after seeing an ad on social media. My initial investment was about 6k CAD, and they convinced me to put in more, saying the market was hot. I managed to 'grow' my account to just over 15k, or so it said on their platform. I tried to withdraw about 2 weeks ago, just a small amount to test, and they gave me the runaround. Emails, calls, always 'processing'. Now, a new 'account manager' contacted me, saying my account has been flagged as 'dormant' because I haven't traded in a few weeks (I was waiting for my withdrawal!). They're demanding a 'reactivation fee' of 1500 CAD to 'unlock' my funds and process my withdrawal. It feels like a trap. I'm in Toronto, and I'm just so stressed. Has anyone encountered this specific 'dormant account' tactic with IronFX offshore or another unregulated broker? What should I do? I'm so desperate to get my money back.
My 'broker' IronFX offshore is demanding a 'platform license fee' before I can withdraw my profits. Scam?
Hey everyone, I'm in a really tough spot and hoping someone here can offer some insight. About six months ago, I got into forex trading after seeing some ads online. A guy contacted me from what he said was IronFX offshore, and they seemed pretty professional at first. I started with a small deposit, and my 'portfolio' grew pretty fast, like ridiculously fast. I tried to withdraw some of my profits last week – about 8k USD – because I needed the money for something urgent. They processed the request, but then I got an email saying I needed to pay a 'platform license fee' of around 1.5k USD before the withdrawal could be released. They're saying it's standard procedure for high-profit withdrawals on their platform. This sounds super dodgy to me. Has anyone heard of this kind of fee before? Is IronFX offshore even a real broker, or did I get played? Feeling really stupid right now.
My 'broker' is demanding a 'commission reset fee' before I can withdraw my profits. Is this legit?
Hey everyone, feeling really stuck here and honestly, a bit foolish. I started trading with this platform, it's called IronFX offshore (I know, I know, should've checked more), and for a while, everything seemed fine. My account showed some decent 'profits'. But now, when I try to withdraw, they're saying I owe a 'commission reset fee' because I apparently exceeded some trading limits they never told me about. It's like, a significant amount, low five figures, and they're saying my funds are 'frozen' until I pay it. I've tried arguing with their 'support' but they just keep sending me canned responses. I'm in Sheffield, UK, and this whole thing feels very scammy. Has anyone encountered this specific fee before? Is there *any* way to get my money out, or is it gone for good?
My 'broker' IronFX offshore is demanding a 'server maintenance fee' before I can withdraw. Scam?
Hey everyone, feeling super stressed out right now. I've been trading with this platform, IronFX offshore, for a few months. Everything seemed fine, even making a bit of profit, about five figures in my account balance. But when I tried to withdraw, they suddenly hit me with a 'server maintenance fee'. They're saying it's like a one-time thing to upgrade their systems and ensure faster transactions, and that I need to pay it before they can process my withdrawal. It's a pretty substantial amount, around 10% of my total balance. My gut is telling me this is a huge red flag, especially since I never saw anything about this fee in their terms and conditions. I've sent them a couple of emails asking for clarification but they just send me canned responses. Has anyone encountered something like this before? What should I do? I really need that money back.
My 'broker' is demanding a 'reserve capital deposit' to release my profits. Is this another scam?
Feeling so stupid right now, but hoping someone can help. I got into forex trading a few months back after seeing some ads on social media, you know, the usual 'make passive income' stuff. Found this broker, IronFX offshore, through a friend who said they had good returns. I invested about $3k, then kept putting in a bit more, eventually got my account up to like, low five figures. Pretty exciting for me, never had that much money in one place before. Now I want to withdraw a significant chunk, and suddenly they're saying I need to deposit something called 'reserve capital' – like another 15% of my profits – to 'activate the withdrawal gateway'. They're saying it's standard procedure for large withdrawals to ensure liquidity. This sounds totally fishy to me. I've already put in so much. My partner is really mad, says i'm just throwing money away. Has anyone else encountered this? Is it a common scam tactic? What can I even do if I've been had? I'm in Cape Town.
My 'broker' IronFX offshore is demanding a 'platform upgrade fee' before I can withdraw. Is this legit?
Hi everyone, I'm really panicking here. I've been trading with this 'broker' called IronFX offshore for about 6 months, mostly forex and some commodities. Everything seemed fine, I even saw my account balance grow pretty nicely, at least on their platform. I decided to try and withdraw some of my profits last week, just a small amount to test the waters, about £2k. My 'account manager' (who's been super pushy btw) told me I couldn't withdraw until I paid a 'platform upgrade fee' of £500. He said it was mandatory for all accounts to access the new, faster withdrawal system. It sounds completely dodgy to me. I've never heard of anything like this. Is this a common thing with brokers, or am i being scammed? What should i even do? I'm worried about losing everything.
