Lost a load of cash to a 'friend' from a language app, fake forex platform. What next?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty stupid and devastated right now. I met this person on a language exchange app, you know, just trying to practice my Spanish. We chatted for weeks, moved to WhatsApp, and it felt really genuine. They started talking about crypto and forex, showed me these amazing 'returns' from some platform they swore by. NGL, I'm usually pretty savvy, but they were so convincing, and we'd built up this rapport. I ended up putting in a decent chunk, about 8k USD, into what I now realize was a fake forex platform. My 'friend' then disappeared. I've tried contacting the platform support, but it's just a dead end. I feel so ashamed. What can I even do? Is there any way to report this or get my money back?
