Lost my bitcoin after applying for a 'job' that turned out to be a crypto task scam, is it gone?
i'm pretty embarrassed about this but i need to ask. i was looking for an online job, and found this 'task-based' one advertising good pay for simple tasks – mostly clicking on products or reviewing stuff, supposedly boosting sales for online shops. it seemed legit at first, they even had a 'manager' chatting with me on Telegram. anyway, they said i needed to 'activate' my account by topping up a small amount of crypto. i sent about 0.05 BTC to an address they gave me. then, the tasks got weirder, asking for more and more 'top-ups' to complete 'high-value orders' that would supposedly pay back with huge commissions. i didn't realize until i tried to withdraw my funds and they kept asking for more 'tax' or 'unlock fees.' now they've ghosted me. i feel so stupid. is there any way to trace or recover that bitcoin?
Anyone recovered funds from a fake 'task scam' with Nethertrace?
I'm reaching out because I've been completely heartbroken and frankly, dumbfounded, after falling for a task scam. It started innocently enough, just liking videos on YouTube for small payments, then escalated to crypto deposits for 'advanced tasks' with promises of huge returns. Long story short, I'm out about 8k EUR, spread across Binance and a couple of those sketchier wallets. My friend told me about Nethertrace after they had some success with a similar scam, and I've had my initial consultation. They seem really professional and transparent about what's possible and what isn't, and they didn't ask for any money upfront, which was a huge relief after hearing so many horror stories. The team at [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co) walked me through their process, and it sounds like they do actual chain analysis. Has anyone else used Nethertrace for a task scam, particularly one that involved multiple crypto transfers? Just looking for some reassurance, I'm still feeling pretty numb from it all.
