My unregulated broker, 'TradeVista Pro', says I need to pay a 'withdrawal clearance fee.' Is this normal?
I started trading forex like maybe three months ago, always wanted to try. Found this broker called 'TradeVista Pro' online, seemed okay, they had a decent-looking website and promised low spreads. Deposited about $3,500 using Wise. I made some decent profits, like my account shows nearly $7,000 now. So I tried to withdraw $2,000 last week. My account manager, 'Michael,' who's been super responsive till now, emailed me saying I need to pay a 'withdrawal clearance fee' of 10% of my withdrawal amount to 'process my funds through international banking regulations.' He said it's standard. I've never heard of this before, and it feels really off. He's been pushing me to pay it quickly. I don't want to lose my profits or, even worse, my initial deposit. Has anyone encountered this before? Is this a standard thing with brokers, especially unregulated ones? Or is this a red flag?
My unregulated MT5 broker, 'TradeVista Pro', just locked my trading account. Are my funds gone?
Feeling totally gutted right now. I put about 7,000 USD, which is a lot for me, into this broker called 'TradeVista Pro' after seeing some really good payouts on social media. They were using the MetaTrader 5 platform, which I thought meant they were legit, you know? For a few weeks, everything was fine, I saw some good 'profits' accumulate in my account. But when I tried to initiate my first withdrawal last week, maybe 2k, they just locked my whole account. I can't log in, can't see anything. I've sent emails, tried their chat, nothing. Just silence. I'm in Ras Al Khaimah, and i'm not sure who to even talk to here. Has anyone dealt with this kind of MT5 broker locking accounts before? Is there any way to get my money back at all, or should I just accept it as a really harsh lesson?
