My savings disappeared after 'migrating' them on a fake exchange site. Is it all gone?
Ok, so I'm really panicking here. I got an email, looked pretty legit, saying my old crypto exchange was 'migrating' to a new, improved platform and I needed to transfer my funds over by a certain date or they'd be locked. I usually don't fall for this stuff but it had my name, my old exchange account details, everything looked spot on. They had a link, I clicked it, logged in, and followed the steps to 'migrate' my USDT and some ETH to this 'new' platform. It looked just like the old one, but slicker. Now, a week later, I try to log in and the site is gone. Just completely gone. My original exchange account shows zero balance too. I tried contacting support for both the old and 'new' one, nothing. Did I just get totally scammed? Is there literally any way to trace this? I'm in Toulouse, and this was a significant chunk of my savings. I feel so stupid right now.
My Coinbase funds vanished after a 'wallet synchronization' link – did I just lose everything?
Feeling absolutely sick right now. I got an email, looked pretty official, saying Coinbase was doing a mandatory wallet synchronization for security reasons. It had a link, I clicked it, logged in with my details and even put in the 2FA code. Everything looked normal. Then, about an hour later, I check my actual Coinbase app and my entire balance is GONE. Like, zero. No transaction history, nothing. It just says '0.00'. I contacted Coinbase support but haven't heard back yet and I'm freaking out. This was a significant chunk of my savings. Did I fall for a phishing scam? Is there *any* way to get my crypto back, or is it just gone forever? I'm so desperate for answers. I tried logging in again through the official app, and it works, but the balance is still nothing.
Crypto vanished from Coinbase account after a weird 'security upgrade' email, is it gone?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty sick to my stomach right now. I woke up this morning to an email that looked like it was from Coinbase, saying there was a mandatory security upgrade and I needed to verify my account or it would be temporarily locked. It had all the right logos and everything, so I clicked the link, logged in, and followed the steps. It asked for my 2FA code too, which I gave. Now, my entire balance, around $12,000 worth of various coins, is gone. Completely. My transaction history shows transfers out to an unknown wallet address. I immediately changed my password, froze my account (or tried to), and reported it to Coinbase support, but they're just giving me canned responses about how crypto transfers are irreversible. Is there seriously *anything* I can do? I'm in Germany, this was my savings. I don't know what to do, feels like a nightmare.
Lost my crypto after a 'security audit' email, is it recoverable?
Hey everyone, Feeling pretty gutted right now. I got an email last week that looked super legit, like it was from Trust Wallet, saying they were doing a mandatory security audit and I needed to verify my wallet. It had all the logos, looked professional, even the sender email seemed okay at first glance. I clicked the link, connected my wallet (stupid, I know, but it was late and I wasn't thinking straight), and followed the steps to "re-authenticate." Next morning, I check my Trust Wallet and almost all my ETH and some USDC are gone. Just...poof. The transaction history shows a bunch of transfers I didn't authorize. I reported it to Trust Wallet support, but they basically said once it's off-chain, it's out of their hands. Is there *any* hope here? Has anyone dealt with something like this and actually got their funds back? I'm in shock.
My Binance account was locked after I clicked a 'security alert' link, did I just get phished?
Feeling absolutely sick to my stomach right now. I got an email, looked super legit, said it was from Binance about 'unusual login activity' and that I needed to verify my account immediately. It had the Binance logo, all the right branding, everything. I panicked, saw the 'click here to secure your account' button and just... clicked it. Went to what looked like a Binance login page, entered my info, then it just refreshed. Felt weird almost instantly. Tried to log into my *real* Binance app a few minutes later and boom – password incorrect. Tried again, then my account showed as locked. I contacted Binance support, and they're doing their security checks, but it's radio silence basically. I had a decent chunk of ETH and some USDT in there, nothing crazy, but it was money I really couldn't afford to lose. I'm wondering if this was a phishing scam and if my crypto is gone for good. Has anyone else experienced this with Binance or similar exchanges? What are my options here? Do I even have any options?
