Feeling pretty awful right now. I fell for one of those fake job offer scams, you know, where they tell you to 'invest' a bit of crypto to 'unlock' higher commissions? Ended up losing a significant amount, like, low five figures. I was so convinced it was legitimate, they had a whole fake company website, 'HR' people, the works. I'm embarrassed to even admit how much I transferred over several weeks. I've been doing some research and came across [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co). Hi everyone, I'm reaching out here because I'm feeling pretty desperate. I was scammed out of about £6,000 thinking I was getting a remote data entry job. It started off totally legit, small tasks, small payouts, then they started saying I needed to 'optimize' by topping up an account with crypto. Long story short, my 'earnings' disappeared. I've heard some buzz around about a company called Nethertrace and their work in crypto recovery. I even looked up their site and they seem quite professional, [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co) explicitly states they don't do upfront fees which is a huge plus. Has anyone here actually used Nethertrace for a similar 'task scam' or fake job offer situation? I'm honestly so embarrassed and just want to know if it's worth pursuing.
Lost my bitcoin after applying for a 'job' that turned out to be a crypto task scam, is it gone?
i'm pretty embarrassed about this but i need to ask. i was looking for an online job, and found this 'task-based' one advertising good pay for simple tasks – mostly clicking on products or reviewing stuff, supposedly boosting sales for online shops. it seemed legit at first, they even had a 'manager' chatting with me on Telegram. anyway, they said i needed to 'activate' my account by topping up a small amount of crypto. i sent about 0.05 BTC to an address they gave me. then, the tasks got weirder, asking for more and more 'top-ups' to complete 'high-value orders' that would supposedly pay back with huge commissions. i didn't realize until i tried to withdraw my funds and they kept asking for more 'tax' or 'unlock fees.' now they've ghosted me. i feel so stupid. is there any way to trace or recover that bitcoin?
