My 'broker' OptionsTradePro wants a 'regulatory compliance fee' to release my profits. Scam?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty stupid right now. I invested a decent chunk of savings, about 12,000 euros, with this online 'broker' called OptionsTradePro. Found them through an ad, chatted with a 'broker' on WhatsApp for a while, seemed legit enough at first. Made some good profits, or so they showed me on their platform. My account balance shot up to over 35,000 euros in a few weeks, which felt amazing. Now I want to withdraw my initial investment plus some profit, but they're asking for a 'regulatory compliance fee' of 5,000 euros first. They say it's to adhere to international financial regulations before funds can be transferred. This wasn't mentioned *anywhere* when I signed up. My partner says it smells like a scam. Is this a new tactic? I'm in Marseille, and I have no idea if the AMF France would even deal with something like this since they're based 'offshore'. Any advice?
My account with IronFX offshore is 'frozen', they're demanding an 'account reactivation fee' now. Help?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling sick to my stomach about this whole situation. I invested a decent chunk of my savings, about 12k AUD, with IronFX offshore after seeing some really flashy ads on social media. Everything seemed fine, I even saw some 'profits' building up in my account, which made me put in more. About a month ago, I tried to make a withdrawal to pay for some unexpected medical bills, and suddenly my account was 'frozen'. They're now saying I need to pay an "account reactivation fee" of 10% of my balance, around 1.2k AUD, before they can process *any* withdrawals. They keep saying it's for 'security protocols' and 'regulatory compliance'. It sounds fishy, but I'm desperate to get my money back. Is this legit? Has anyone dealt with this IronFX offshore before? What should I do? I'm worried if I pay, they'll just ask for more.
My unregulated CFD broker, IronFX offshore, is asking for a 'profit verification fee' to release funds. Scam?
Hey everyone, I'm feeling sick to my stomach about this. I started trading CFDs with IronFX offshore a few months ago after seeing some really impressive returns advertised. Everything seemed fine, I made some decent 'profits' according to their platform, and I decided to try and withdraw a significant portion, about five-six figures. But now they're saying I need to pay a 'profit verification fee' before they can process the withdrawal. They sent me an email saying it's for compliance and anti-money laundering checks, 'standard procedure' for large withdrawals. It feels super fishy. I've already put in a lot of money, and now they want more just to get my own money back? Has anyone encountered this with IronFX offshore or other brokers? Is this a common scam tactic, or is there any chance it's legitimate? I'm in Phoenix, USA, and just want to know if I should cut my losses or try to pay it.
