Crypto 'tech support' drained my wallet after I messed up a transaction – can anything be done?
Hey everyone, I'm kinda desperate here. I messed up sending some ETH from my MetaMask to Binance, somehow it got stuck or something. Panicked and searched for 'MetaMask support' on Google, which I know now was dumb. Ended up in a chat with someone claiming to be official support. They were super reassuring, walked me through 'connecting' my wallet to their 'diagnostic tool'. Said it was just to check the transaction status. Next thing I know, my entire MetaMask balance – about $18k USD worth of ETH and some other tokens – was GONE. Just vanished, transferred out to some address I don't recognize. This happened late last night, around 10 PM. My partner is furious, and I just feel sick to my stomach. Is there literally *anything* I can do? I've already reported it to Binance and IC3, but I'm not holding my breath.
Crypto funds vanished after 'tech support' helped me access my old wallet, any recourse?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling sick to my stomach about this. About a week ago, I found an old hard drive with a bunch of crypto from like, 2017. I was so excited! But I couldn't remember the password for the wallet software. So I searched online for help, found a 'tech support' number, and they connected to my computer via AnyDesk. The guy was super helpful, spent almost an hour with me, eventually got me logged in. The balance was there, almost 8 ETH. He said I should move it to a 'more secure' wallet and suggested Binance. I went to do it, and as I was trying to send it, the balance just... dropped to zero. He hung up. My stomach dropped. I tried to trace it on Etherscan but I'm no expert, it's just a bunch of numbers to me. I've reported it to the UK police, but they seemed a bit clueless tbh. Is there anything, anything at all, I can do? I'm in Birmingham.
Lost my crypto after a 'customer support' remote access scam – any hope of getting it back?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty stupid right now. I received an email, looked super legitimate, supposedly from Coinbase support. It said there was suspicious activity on my account and I needed to verify my identity urgently. I clicked the link, it led to a site that looked *exactly* like Coinbase. Then it prompted me to download a 'secure remote access tool' so they could 'investigate'. Like an idiot, I installed it. Within minutes, my whole crypto balance, about 8k USD in ETH and some BTC, was gone from my Coinbase account. I was just watching my screen, helpless. I tried contacting actual Coinbase support but they just gave me the standard 'we can't reverse transactions' spiel. Is there *any* chance of getting this back? Or am i just out of luck for being so gullible?

Feeling absolutely gutted right now. I got a pop-up on my browser saying my Coinbase account had suspicious activity and to call a 'support' number immediately. It looked so legit, had all the branding and everything. I freaked out and called it. The person on the other end convinced me I needed to install TeamViewer so they could 'secure' my account. I did it, like an idiot. They moved all my ETH and BTC to another wallet right in front of my eyes. It happened so fast, maybe 10 minutes from call to gone. Total of about 8k USD worth. I've reported it to Coinbase and filed a police report here in Limerick. Is there any actual hope for tracing this or am I just out of luck? It feels so unfair.
