My unregulated broker, 'ProFX Markets', wants a 'due diligence fee' to release my profits. Scam or legit?
Hi everyone, I'm really panicking here. I've been trading forex with a broker called 'ProFX Markets' for about six months and actually made some decent money, or so I thought. My account shows a profit of around $15,000 USD after starting with about $2,000. I initiated a withdrawal last week, just a partial one, like $5,000, to see how it works. Now they're telling me I need to pay a 'due diligence fee' of $1,200 before they can process the withdrawal. They said it's for 'international compliance checks' and 'to ensure fund legality'. They claim it's a standard procedure for large withdrawals to non-local banks. I've sent them everything they asked for, ID, utility bills, bank statements, etc. My 'account manager' is really pushing me to pay it quickly, saying the market is volatile and I should secure my funds. It sounds suspicious, but what if it's real? I don't wanna lose my profits. Anyone else encountered this with ProFX Markets or other unregulated brokers?
My unregulated broker, 'ProFX Markets', is demanding a 'platform maintenance fee' to release my profits. Scam?
Hi everyone, I'm feeling really stressed about this. I've been trading with a platform called 'ProFX Markets' for about six months now. Everything seemed fine, I even made some decent profits, like mid-four figures. When I tried to withdraw my money last week, they approved the request but then it just sat there, pending. Today, I got an email saying I need to pay a 'platform maintenance fee' of around 15% of my withdrawal amount before they can process it. They say it's because of upgrades to their trading infrastructure. This just feels really fishy to me. I'm in Ireland, and I'm pretty sure they're not regulated here or anywhere reputable. Has anyone else encountered this? Is this a standard thing or am I getting scammed? I really need this money back.
