My USDT disappeared after trying to 'unstake' it from a fake DeFi platform, is it totally gone?
Hey everyone, I'm feeling sick to my stomach right now. I put a fair bit of my savings, about 12k USD in USDT, into what I thought was a legitimate DeFi platform. It looked really professional, linked through a supposed 'partner' on Telegram. They said I could unstake it any time, but when I tried to do that yesterday, it just disappeared. The transaction looked like it went through on the blockchain explorer, but the USDT never hit my wallet. It's like it went to some unknown address. I've been trying to contact their 'support' but it's just radio silence. I'm based in Nice, France, and I've never dealt with anything like this before. Is there ANY way to trace these funds or get them back? I'm panicking a bit, tbh.
Crypto funds gone from my hot wallet after connecting to a new DEX, can I get it back?
Ugh, feeling so dumb right now. So, last week, I was on my laptop, just casually browsing new DeFi projects and stumbled upon this new DEX. It looked pretty legit, clean UI, promised decent APY for some stablecoin pools. I'm usually super careful, but I guess I got a bit complacent. I connected my MetaMask wallet – just a small amount, thankfully not my whole portfolio, but still like, 7k USD in ETH and some USDC. Approved a transaction to 'stake' in a pool. Everything looked fine for a bit, then I went to check today and my wallet balance is basically zero for those coins. The transaction history on Etherscan looks super weird, like my funds were just... sent away? Not to the staking pool address I remember. My partner thinks it's completely gone but I'm hoping there's *some* way to trace it. Has anyone managed to recover funds after something like this? I'm in Halifax, Canada btw. Any advice or direction is appreciated. Thanks.
Staked crypto gone after 'rewards claim' on a fake DeFi site, anything left to do?
Hey everyone, Feeling pretty gutted right now. I had a decent chunk of ETH and some altcoins staked on what I *thought* was a legit DeFi platform, earning some nice APY. Saw a notification – or maybe an ad, tbh it's a blur now – about claiming enhanced rewards for early adopters. It looked like the real deal, used the same branding, even had similar UI. I connected my Trust Wallet, saw some really high numbers for 'pending rewards', and clicked to claim them. It asked for a signature... which felt normal for DeFi. The transaction went through, and then... nothing. The rewards never showed up. When I refreshed, my staked assets were gone. Just gone. The contract interaction must've drained my wallet instead of claiming rewards. I'm kicking myself, hard. This happened yesterday evening, around 8 PM, after dinner. I've disconnected my wallet from the site, but what else can I even do? Is there any way to trace this or get it back? My partner is furious, and I just feel sick.
Wallet drained after connecting to a 'new DEX' that promised crazy APY, is my ETH gone?
Feeling pretty stupid right now. I saw this ad on X (Twitter) for a new Decentralized Exchange (DEX) that was offering like, 500% APY on ETH staking. I know, I know, red flag city. But I was just looking at my portfolio and feeling a bit down, thought maybe a quick win could help. It looked pretty professional, had a decent UI, lots of excited comments on their social posts. So I connected my MetaMask wallet. Didn't even think twice. Approved a transaction, thinking it was just for staking. Next thing I know, my entire ETH balance is gone. Like, completely wiped out. I immediately disconnected my wallet, revoked permissions, everything. But it was too late. I've heard about wallet drainers but always thought I was too careful for this. My partner is furious. Is there literally *any* chance of getting it back? I traced the transaction on Etherscan, and it went to a completely different wallet address. It's about $4,000 worth of ETH. Any advice beyond "you're an idiot" would be really appreciated.
Has anyone had success recovering funds from a fake DeFi rug pull with Nethertrace?
Hey everyone, i'm Amelia from Melbourne and i'm in a bit of a panic. i got totally taken in by one of those fake DeFi projects, you know, where they promise crazy APY and then just pull the rug out from under you. Lost a significant amount, like, my life savings almost. i've been doing some research into recovery firms and [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co) keeps coming up. They seem to have a good reputation, especially with their no-upfront-fee policy, which tbh is a huge relief after getting burned so badly already. i'm just really hesitant to trust anyone else with this, you know? It's been such a nightmare. Has anyone here actually used Nethertrace for a DeFi rug pull specifically? What was your experience like? Did they manage to trace anything? Any advice or shared experiences would be so, so helpful right now. i just need some hope.
Lost a load of MATIC after connecting to a fake Polygon bridge, is it completely gone?
Hey everyone, feeling pretty stupid right now. I was trying to bridge some MATIC from Ethereum mainnet to Polygon to save on gas fees for some DeFi stuff. Found a link on a forum that looked legit for a Polygon bridge. Connected my MetaMask, signed a transaction that I thought was just approving the bridge contract, but then my MATIC disappeared. Not just the amount I was trying to bridge, but everything in that wallet. Over 8k USD, all my savings gone. This was last night, around 10 PM here in Ottawa. I've reported it to the local police, but they looked at me like I was speaking Martian. Is there genuinely any hope for tracing this on-chain? I saw some stuff about Chainalysis, but it sounds like it costs a fortune. What can I even do? I'm stressing big time.
Wallet drained after approving what I thought was a simple token swap – any hope?
Feeling totally gutted. I was trying to swap some obscure altcoin for ETH on what looked like a pretty legitimate DEX, you know, one of those new ones that pop up all the time. Connected my MetaMask, and I remember approving what I thought was just the standard 'allow spending' transaction. But then, literally within seconds, my entire wallet, not just the token I was trying to swap, but all my ETH and other stuff, it just... vanished. Saw the transactions on Etherscan, all approved from my address. I've reported it to the platform but haven't heard anything back. This happened late last night, around 11 PM here in Sharjah. My wife is so mad. Is there any way to trace this or get it back? Like, how can a simple approval wipe out everything?
Has anyone here used Nethertrace for a DeFi rug pull recovery?
Hey everyone, I'm absolutely gutted. I got caught in a pretty nasty DeFi rug pull a few weeks ago, lost a significant chunk of my savings, like low five figures. I was trying to get into some higher-yield stuff, you know? Thought I did my due diligence, but clearly not enough. The project just disappeared, website gone, socials nuked. I've been looking into recovery options, and a company called Nethertrace keeps coming up. I've read some positive things, but honestly, after being scammed, I'm super wary of everything. They claim to trace funds and work with exchanges, but I'm worried it's another one of those 'recovery scam' things where they ask for money upfront and then vanish. I saw on their site that they don't do upfront fees, which is a good sign, and their overall approach seems pretty professional, actually. I mean, they've got this whole detailed section about blockchain forensics and legal support. So, has anyone actually had a successful recovery experience with [Nethertrace](https://nethertrace.co) from a DeFi rug pull, or even just regular crypto theft? I'd really appreciate any insights, good or bad.
Lost my crypto savings after a fake "yield farming" offer on a DeFi platform (DexoSwap) – can I get it back?
Hey everyone, feeling completely devastated. I was trying to get into DeFi and saw an offer for some really high APY yield farming on a platform called DexoSwap. Looked legit, had a sleek interface, and even linked to what seemed like a genuine Telegram group. I connected my MetaMask wallet (which had most of my crypto, like 10k EUR mostly in ETH and USDT) and approved a transaction for 'staking'. Next thing I know, my entire wallet is empty. All my ETH, all my USDT, gone. This happened a few days ago, late evening here in Paris. I tried to revoke permissions on MetaMask but it was too late. I've reported it to MetaMask and my local police, but they just kinda shrugged. I'm desperate. Is there any way to trace these funds or get them back? Has anyone had success with something like this?
Wallet drained after connecting to a fake crypto 'pre-sale' site, is it gone?
hi everyone, feeling pretty stupid rn. i usually consider myself pretty good with spotting scams but i clicked on this ad on x (twitter, whatever) for a new 'revolutionary' defi project pre-sale. it looked super legit, good graphics, whitepaper, even a roadmap. i'd done my homework, or so i thought. i connected my metamask and approved a transaction – it was supposed to just 'confirm my participation' and reserve some tokens. instead, my entire wallet, about 3k EUR in ETH and some USDC, just vanished. saw the transaction on Etherscan, funds sent to some random address. this happened yesterday around 3 PM, my time. i immediately disconnected my wallet, revoked approvals via revoke.cash but it was too late. tried reporting it to metamask support but they said they can't do anything. i'm just so lost. is there any hope at all or should i just accept it's gone? any advice on what else I can or should do?
